Chromium ring production
The chrome ring production represents a state-of-the-art and automated production line that specialises in the precise manufacture of stainless steel chrome rings. The various steps in this process not only ensure efficient production, but also compliance with the highest quality standards.
Automatic cutting to length of a stainless steel strip with precision punching knife:
The production process begins with the automatic cutting to length of a stainless steel strip using a precision punching knife. This innovative technology ensures that each strip is cut with extreme precision to ensure the uniformity of the chrome rings.
Coiling of the belt with two linear axes and a gripper system with one rotary unit each:
The cut stainless steel strip is then automatically rolled up using two linear axes and a gripper system. These precise movements enable targeted preparation of the strip for the next production step.
Welding of the strip using resistance welding to form a closed ring:
The rolled-up strap is welded into a closed ring using resistance welding. This resistance welding technique ensures a permanent connection and high stability of the ring, even under demanding conditions.
Mounting the ring on the pressing tool:
After the welding process, the closed ring is automatically mounted on a pressing tool. This precise positioning enables preparation for the next step in the forming process.
Ring forming using a hydraulic press:
The ring is formed using a hydraulic press and appropriate tools to achieve the desired chrome ring structure
Removal of the ring with MDA SCARA robot:
The MDA robot removes the moulded chrome rings from the production line.
Quality inspection using a camera:
Each chrome ring undergoes a quality check using a camera system.
This ensures that each ring meets the manufacturer's specified quality requirements. And that any defects or irregularities can be recognised and rectified at an early stage.
